Baselane is a banking and bookkeeping app for landlords. Roomline organizes the rooms. The two don’t connect to each other, and there is no partnership between the companies, but they do different jobs, so they can sit side by side. This guide shows how the work divides at the fictional Maple House, and how rent that lands in a Baselane account shows up room by room in Roomline. Facts about Baselane are from its own site, as of September 2026.

Money side: set up Baselane first
Open the accounts and set up rent collection in Baselane, following Baselane’s own setup; this guide doesn’t cover it. Tenants who pay through Baselane pay there, and the money lands in your Baselane account.
Room side: set up Roomline
In Roomline, add the property, its bedrooms, and each agreement: the room, the monthly rent, each housemate’s share, the deposit, and the rent due day. Turn on Track rent for each agreement on the rent ledger, and each month from then on expects that rent.
Roomline’s pay links, set under Settings, Rent, How tenants pay you, cover Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, and PayPal. If your tenants pay through Baselane, you can leave them empty, or keep them for a housemate who pays another way.
Each month: record rent where you can see it
When rent lands in Baselane, Roomline has three ways to learn about it. First, the tenant can choose “I’ve already paid” on their Roomline page; it appears under Tenants say they’ve paid for you to confirm once you see the deposit in Baselane. Second, you can choose Record payment on the rent ledger, pick the month, set How it arrived to Bank transfer, and record the full amount or one housemate’s share.
Third, Roomline can read deposits from a linked bank through Plaid, read-only, and suggest which agreement and month each one pays; you confirm every match. We haven’t confirmed that Baselane accounts can be linked through Plaid, so don’t plan around it: if your account doesn’t appear when you choose Connect a bank, record payments by hand. For a five-room house that takes a few minutes a month.

Deposits, bills, and repairs
Keep deposits where your state’s rules say they belong; Baselane lists security deposit accounts among its services. In Roomline, the deposit amount sits on the agreement, and at move-out Settle deposit records deductions and when and how you sent the rest, which shows on the tenant’s page. Roomline records the deposit; it never holds it.
Pay the house’s bills from Baselane. Log each month’s amounts under Utilities in Roomline, where each bill is either in the rent or split evenly between the tenants; their share shows on their page, and they pay you. Repairs work the same way: tenants report them on their page, you track them in Roomline, and the invoice gets paid and categorized in Baselane.
A monthly routine for both apps
Neither app reads the other, so a short routine keeps them in step. Nothing here needs an integration; it needs ten minutes after rent day.

- Record anything paid another way: cash, check, Zelle, Venmo
- Remind anyone still late from the rent ledger

Does Roomline integrate with Baselane?
No. There is no official integration or partnership, and the apps don’t exchange data automatically. Can Roomline read my Baselane account?
